Just to keep you updated as to Hunter's progress....I really can't believe how incredible this dog is. He stays on the property and never lets me out of his sight....Last night the bear was around and he was barking at him so I called him and he came in straight away. I left him the other night for 3 hours and came home and he hadn't touched a thing. I am dropping him off at my neighbours every day and pick him up after work...next week she will start bringing him home after the walk and I am sure he will be fine. He loves to be brushed and is just a big love bunny. Another success story for you and all your wonderful volunteers. Will keep you posted.

Well Romeo (new name Hunter after the hunters that found him) is awesome...We have had a super two days together and he is sweet, gentle and calm.  We have met all kinds of dogs today and he is fantastic.  He does like to mark his territory quite a bit and I am hoping that will calm down when the hormones (before he was neutered) back off a little.

He is eating, drinking, peeing, pooping, loves treats and will even sit, lie down and even comes when I call which is amazing.  My neighbour helped me put up a tarp over the dog pen today and I left him free in the yard and he just hung out.  He actually found an old buried bone of Griffins and has re dugged it in my flower garden for future use.  He is definitely not a retreiver but did watch the dog we went walking with today quite keenly retrieve the stick from the creek, ears were perked and he was on full alert.  So maybe when he is all healed up he will go in the water.  He is a winter dog as he likes to sit in the shade (my deck is too hot). I left him in the kennel outside when I drove my neighbour back home and no whining or crying but he did bark when I pulled into the driveway.

Hunter is an awesome dog.  We tried to introduce him to the cat next door but she wasn't having anything to do with him.  So don't know if he chases them or not.  We saw two turkeys on our walk and he watched intently but I kept him on the leash just in case he bolts.  I will let him free after a few days but I am not quite ready yet.

Thank you so much for everything he will be taken care of very well and is already loved lots and lots and lots.

Take care and keep up the fantastic work you do as I am sure there are times when it is overwelming but it is all about those strays that have no where to go and at your shelter they are so very lucky.
