6/4/09:

Misha is fabulous! She is a very interesting dog..She can be submissive, assertive, playful, and pouty all within a few minute time span. We've bought her squeaky toys when she seemed like she was done with the ones you sent along, only to have her tear them apart. The only ones she really loves are the ones you sent. The snowman and the deer are still with us. One toy, a crawdad that squeaked and had ropes coming out of it, she seemed posessed by. She chewed and tugged on it and then stole away with it outside. We didn't see it for a few days. Then, when I was working in the yard, I saw her digging in a particular area. She kept looking around to see if anyone was watching. Riley came outside and Misha laid down over her hole like she was pretending there was nothing there. She even crossed her front legs. After Riley went by she started digging tentatively. Maggie came outside and said she couldn't find the toy anywhere. I told her to dig where Misha was. Sure enough. There was the crawdad. Dirty and chewed upon. Shortly after, the squeaky was chewed out of it, and now she won't touch it.

She is well bonded to us, especially me. She follows me everywhere in the house and outside. But let her outside the fence and she is gone like the wind. I get her and Riley (who has become more agressive especially at the dog park when he and Misha are running. Any dog that looks at Misha wrong or who she gets mift at, Riley will attack. Not a pretty sight.) out on walks daily and to the dog park or Lincoln Park (a 4 mile walk down to the water and back.) a few days a week. Riley and Misha are pretty funny together in the yard. Misha is constantly on Riley, body blocking, chewing on his face, licking the inside of his mouth, humping him, and he just tolerates it. That's why I find it so interesting that he has become so bad at the dog park. For a while, I was walking them separately in the park, leaving one in the car while I walked the other. But now that it has gotten warm out I can't leave them in the car. Today, I took them to the dog park and walked Riley on harness and leash while Misha got to run free. All was well. It's just sort of sad for Riley.

Misha has filled out, and looks great. She eats a lot, about as much as Riley, and doesn't gain weight. Her fur feels soft and thick. Health and happy wise I think she's doing pretty well for herself.

Hope all is well with you. Please let us know when you are in the area. We would love to meet up with you and have you see Lady Misha.
